Gina Jae is a PhD candidate of medical anthropology in the Department of Sociomedical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health. She employs ethnographic methods to examine the role of medical innovation in the reproduction of health disparities and the social, cultural, historical, and political terrain of these concerns. Her dissertation is supported by external grators, including the National Science Foundation, Fulbright IIE, the Wenner Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, and the NIH Heart, Lung and Blood INstitute; additionally, she is clinically trained in internal medicine and pediatrics.
