Peter Bearman wins 2025 Kohli Prize for Sociology

Today, the Kohli Foundation for Sociology announced that this year’s Kohli Prize for Sociology goes to Peter Bearman for his exceptional scholarly contributions to the fields of movements, networks, health, and science.
The Kohli Prize for Sociology honors exceptional achievement in and contributions to the field and profession of sociology. It is a 50,000 EUR award awarded by an international Selection Committee composed of the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees and two additional members from other world regions.
The Selection Committee has awarded this year's prize to Peter Bearman, citing his work's remarkable ability to bridge theory and empirical research, addressing important and timely research questions. The Committee also noted that the breadth and depth of his methodological approaches, combined with the significant impact his work has on the field of sociology, further underscore his achievements.
The award ceremony at the European University Institute in Fiesole, Florence, on 4-6 November 2025.
