The Kohli Prize for Sociology honors exceptional achievement in and contributions to the field and profession of sociology.
It is a 50,000 EUR award awarded by an international Selection Committee composed of the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees and two additional members from other world regions.
The Selection Committee has awarded the 2025 Prize to Peter Bearman, citing his work's remarkable ability to bridge theory and empirical research, addressing important and timely research questions. The Committee also noted that the breadth and depth of his methodological approaches, combined with the significant impact his work has on the field of sociology, further underscore his achievements.
