Emma O’Loughlin Bérat is a PhD candidate in the English and Comparative Literature department and is writing a dissertation on women in medieval British history writing. Her research interests include multilingualism and cultural transitions, geographies and temporalities, women’s literary cultures, and the intersections of image and text. Originally from New Zealand, Emma grew up circumnavigating the world on a small sailing boat with her family until she moved ashore in France at the end of high school.
