Affiliations

Michael has served in leadership roles at INCITE since its inception in 2012. In 2013, he oversaw the integration of the Columbia Center for Oral History Research and its research agenda into INCITE and has served as Associate Director of both CCOHR and INCITE since. Michael has managed more than three dozen grant-funded projects and annual budgets in excess of $2 million. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Media Studies from The New School and an Executive Master of Policy and Administration with a concentration in International Economic Policy and Management from Columbia University. He was Communications Director for Columbia's Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy from 2010-2012. He is also Assistant Director for the Deepak and Neera Raj Center on Indian Economic Policies.

Prior to arriving at Columbia University he helped launch the Religion, Faith & Values program at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the Digital Media Strategy department at Pro-Media Communications. He was managing editor of the Creston News Advertiser in Creston, Iowa. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.
